Translation of description:
Translation of description into Finnish or English is needed if the European patent is granted in German or French.
0,32 € / word from German/French to English/Finnish
Validation term
Validation must be filed at the Finnish Patent and Registration Office within three months from the publication of the grant of the European patent.
Power of attorney
No power of attorney needed in Finland.
Translation requirements
The claims must be translated into Finnish.
If the European patent has been granted in English, there is no need to translate the description.
If the European patent has been granted in German or French, the complete description must be translated into English or Finnish.
Validation costs
Our fixed price for the validation in Finland is 990 € when the claims comprise up to 1000 words.
Our fixed price for the validation is 1190 € when the claims comprise over 1000 words.
Our fixed price comprises everything needed for validating the European patent in Finland including the Official fee when the European patent has been granted in English.
When the European patent has been granted in German or French, the translation fee for the description is 0,32 € / word.
Service process for validation
Our service process for validation is the following:
- Submit us an order with a European patent number for validating the European patent. The order can be submitted by email to primrose@primrose.fi.
- We will confirm the validation order and the total price by email.
- We will carry out necessary translations and file the validation to the Patent office.
- We will send a report of the validation together with the translations and our invoice.
Service quality principles
Translations are carried out by translators who are specialised in Patents in different technologies. Translators are familiar with the technical language required and the provisions relating to the national patent law.
All translations will be proofread and checked by a qualified patent attorney before filing the translations at the Finnish Patent and Registration Office.
